DTR (Define the Relationship) – Quiz

What do you expect your classmate to do when he/she knows you failed a test? Would you expect your best friend to react the same way? What about your boyfriend or girlfriend?

Check if you think it is reasonable for someone who knows you in each of the following capacities to meet these expectations.

Respond to “Hi!” when we meet on the street or in school.

Buy me a present for my birthday.

Have regular phone conversations with me.

Give me a gift or do something for me on special occasions, eg. graduation.

Provide emotional support when things don’t go well, eg. bad grades or problems at home.

Drop everything and accompany me when I need a shoulder to cry on.

Surprise me sometimes with a gift for no reason at all.

Hang out with my friends when I ask.

Respect and be sensitive to my feelings.

Tell me his/her problems and come to me for advice.
